She told me she doesn’t usually wear pink… I told her she should do it more often.

A little sneak peak for this sweet family. More pics of the littlest Miss to come…
I hope they will be great pals in the future. At the moment the boy tolerates all the advances of the dog who is very much interested in this new smelly little person; forever wanting to sniff and lick him – just wait till he is mobile, Ed, just wait…

We are one month into full-time parenthood. Sleep deprivation is catching up with us. However, the boy is gaining weight and the dog hasn’t eaten a diaper yet – so i think we are doing alright…
Well, remember, I got married. Then we went on holiday. I started throwing up soon after we got back home. And kept going for a couple of months. My waters broke sooner than expected. A lot sooner. We are through the worst but not quite on the home stretch yet…
I haven’t touched my big camera much lately. I miss it.
16 = jeans & t-shirts and a little bit of make-up. 16 = carrying your schoolbooks around but not necessarily reading them. 16 = lots of smiles and smirks and eye rolling. 16 = ordering cokes and full sized portions at the restaurant. 16 = loving dinner with the parents (especially if they pick up the tab at the restaurant). 16 = traveling with tampons & teddy bear. 16 = trying new things. 16 = escaping the world with the iPod. 16 = looking good but not feeling that everyday. 16 = not buying earrings and then wishing you had. 16 = loving responsibility but getting awfully nervous about it. 16 = making up your mind.
Part II including confetti, ball dresses and coffee shops coming soon…
March and April were full… Full of family and friends camping out at our house, full of preparations and last minute decisions, full of laughter and big dinners. And then a day full of balloons, books and even more friends and family. It was wet but warm. We read each other a poem, played cricket in the rain, hugged people and ate cake. After most guests had left we let two balloons go and watched a rainbow appear as they flew high into the sky.
It’s been three weeks since I dropped the last friend off at the airport. In that time I’ve slowly reacquainted myself with a quiet house and chipped away at the mountain of photographs that my friend Christoph took. I’ve also got a couple of other shoots lined up waiting to be edited – so regular programming will resume shortly…
There was no cap this time but plenty of smiles… Hope you and your support crew had a lovely day, Marlene!

Congratulations once again to all the lovely graduates I photographed last week! And thanks for meeting with me – your CDs will be mailed out next week.
